In a clever manoeuvre which reverses the usual public art fabrication process of enlarging a marquette to a major sculpture, Sebastian Moody has produced a milk-carton size multiple of one of his major public artworks, Think Bigger, which appears under a freeway in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

Sebastian Moody is an artist best known for his popular large-scale text works in the public domain which he has been creating for over ten years. These engaging works provide surprising opportunities for philosophical contemplation in busy urban environments. Site-responsive and immediate they are memorable enough to linger in the mind of the viewer. Moody’s text works have appeared in vehicular underpasses, swimming pools, personals ads, kitchen splashbacks, coffee shops, hang-gliders and as shopping receipt ‘portraits’; elsewhere, his messages have manifested as idealised physical environments.

This gesture, Think Bigger, ‘tips its hat’ to the fine tradition of artist multiples conceived by Marcel Duchamp, Joseph Beuys, Gilbert & George, Ed Ruscha, Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, Douglas Gordon, Yoko Ono, Ai WeiWei, Peter Tyndall, Scott Redford, Rose Nolan and others and to the remarkable and influential output of multiplied art by distinguished publishers such as Rene Block (Edition Block), Francesco Conz (Conz Archive), Art Production Fund and Third Drawer Down.

This limited edition, signed multiple translates Moody’s site-specific iconic ‘Valley’ text into a reflective object for your life – inviting you to find the most appropriate place in your home or office environment to continue the contemplation. At a RRP of $150.00 you won’t get a more affordable freeway pylon conceptual artwork anywhere else!
