Jo Lankester
Mind's Eye: Mapping the Landscape

20 March – 25 April 2020

Onespace Gallery is pleased to present Mind’s Eye: Mapping the Landscape, an exhibition of contemporary prints by widely respected, exhibited and collected Townsville-based artist Jo Lankester.

Lankester has been practicing for nearly 30 years. This recent body of work, her first solo exhibition in Brisbane, explores the subject of landscape in equal parts, as a representation of the real or the observed world, and as an internal site.

Lankester employs a range of techniques including intaglio and relief combined with collage and hand stitching to create a suite of unique state prints. The imagery depicted in these prints is created from memories associated with the physicality of experiencing the landscape. It tells stories of the journey, both in the landscape and through the act of printmaking in the studio.
