Onespace Gallery presented new works by Elisa Jane Carmichael in her solo exhibition Connecting Waves: A saltwater woman living on desert country – an exhibition proudly featured in the 2017 Quandamooka Festival (July – September),”Celebrating culture, country and people”.

Connecting Waves was open at Onespace from Wednesday, 5 July 2017 to Saturday, 5 August 2017.

The opening night celebration was held on Friday, 7 July 2017 and the exhibition was officially opened by our special guest speaker Avril Quaill, Festival Curator of the Quandamooka Festival.

About Elisa Jane Carmichael

Elisa is a Ngughi woman from Quandamooka Country (Moreton and Stradbroke Island), and currently Gilimbaa‘s Artist in Residence in Alice Springs, where she has been documenting her personal and creative journey as a Saltwater woman living on Desert Country. Inspired by her life in these two places, Elisa’s exhibition features woven and painted works that share the stories of her connection to the sand, sea and home Country.
